According to The Australian Financial Review, Airbnb is not a threat but a wake-up call to the hotel industry to steer away from "standardised hotel rooms" and pay more attention to unique traveller needs, Japanese luxury hotel brand Hoshino Resorts chief executive Yoshinaru Hoshino says.

Mr Hoshino, who is in Sydney this week to promote his resorts to Australian travellers, particularly his trademark ski resorts, says he is against any "anti Airbnb" movement.
