Total farm gate output was about $63 billion in 2016-17 and is projected to hit $84 billion by 2030, but NFF president Fiona Simson says the sector wants to beat that projection and exceed $100 billion over the same time frame. "Even though we've had this devastating drought, other industries have stepped up," Ms Simson said, noting that horticulture, in particular, had experienced double-digit growth in recent years driven by increased access to overseas markets. "We're becoming a more diverse and sustainable country," she said. "Drought is one of the challenges, but there are opportunities." https://www.afr.com/business/agriculture/agriculture-targets-100b-farm-gate-output-by-2030-despite-headwinds-20181016-h16pgy If you want to read this article in Japanese, please see the following link: https://www.j-abc.com/jp-blog/20301000 Comments are closed.
